Prof. Dr. Achim Aigner

Studied Chemistry and Biochemistry; Ph.D. in Biochemistry (1995), postdoctoral fellow at the Lombardi Cancer Center, Georgetown University, Washington DC (1996-1998). Junior Research Group leader (Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology, Philipps University Marburg), Habilitation (2003), apl-Professor (2009). Since 2011, full professor and head of Clinical Pharmacology in Leipzig.

Research interests: functional analysis of tumor-relevant genes and non-coding RNAs, cellular adaptation processes in tumor treatment, development of novel RNA-based therapies and of nanoparticles for therapeutic RNA delivery
