Ulrich Lächelt studied pharmaceutics at the University of Heidelberg and received doctoral degree in 2014 for his work on non-viral gene vectors in the lab of Prof. Ernst Wagner at the LMU Munich. He obtained habilitation (venia legendi) in 2021 and is currently Assistant Professor for Preclinical Medicines Development at the University of Vienna. His research focusses on the intracellular delivery of therapeutic biomolecules, in particular nucleic acids and genome editing components.
