Frederik Erkens studied chemical engineering at RWTH-Aachen and graduated with a Master of Science in 2019. He then began working as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen. He is doing his doctorate research in the Automation in the Life Sciences group with a focus on developing the automated production systems for the cell therapy manufacturing of the future.
